I was born and raised on the Olympic Peninsula in Western Washington. My interest in watercolor and sketch art led me to study Visual Communications at the Art Institute in Seattle, but when an automobile accident left me with serious neck injuries, I withdrew from school to allow myself time to recover.
During a family visit in Zion Park, Utah, I rediscovered an interest in the visual arts when I purchased a camera to capture my family’s reunion, and found myself drawn to the Utah landscapes, environment and wildlife.
Whether photographing natural settings, building structures or action shots, I prefer images to be candid rather than posed. The candidness is more representative of the raw and flawed beauty of the world around us. True-to-life images otherwise lost to a posed and controlled environment is what I seek to capture and present in my work.
I currently live in Seattle, Washington where I work as a Northwest Sales Representative for Fox Racing, Inc.
